Application Analyst - Financial Services

An Application Analyst is required by a well established and successful business based in Wimborne. Previous experience supporting critical applications within the Financial Services industry is essential. 

As an Applications Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the organisation’s core applications and providing an excellent internal IT Service. You'll oversee practices and processes to ensure integrity, security and availability of the applications in order for the business to function efficiently and provide its customers an excellent service. It also involves working alongside stakeholders to assist in the delivery of projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.


You will be responsible for

  • Ensuring all core applications and relevant integrations are running smoothly and effectively
  • Performing System Admin duties to support business as usual processes
  • Working with subject matter experts to identify system requirements and/or process improvements then facilitating these with suppliers
  • Managing release cycles and distribution of documentation to stakeholders
  • Creating a testing strategy and ensuring all functionality is tested prior to production deployment
  • Collaborating with the wider IT team on enhancements and integrations to support an ongoing IT Strategy
  • Training users on release changes and provide support through a Help Desk system
  • Ensure all process/procedures are documented in accordance with required standards and are published to relevant audiences


Essential Skills:

  • Experience working in service orientated IT support 
  • Previous experience within an Application Support role
  • Experience of working with 3rdparty technology suppliers from change to issue resolution
  • A good understanding of software development life cycles
  • Experience in administrating ERP, ECM and CRM systems
  • Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving system based issue 
  • Experience working with middleware
  • Some scripting knowledge in Unix 
  • Knowledge of Web development such as PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in administrating Financial Services Applications
  • Integration Platforms (middleware) such as Mulesoft, Scribe, Axway
  • Dynamics CRM
  • Familiarity with databases (ideally Oracle)
