Our client is a fintech consumer lender who are well established (over 6 years old and already lent £200m+) and heading for huge growth over the coming years following significant investment.  They have big plans to disrupt and become the dominant force in UK consumer credit using a data-led approach to everything they do. 

 

Role overview

Responsible for review of loan applications that have referred to the loan underwriting team. Typically, this will include the review and checking of the following:

  1. Bank statements
  2. Identification
  3. Fraud referrals

 

This is a great opportunity for someone with existing loan or underwriting knowledge and who wants to progress as an Assistant Loan Underwriter to learn and develop within an experienced team.

 

Responsibilities for Assistant Loan Underwriter

  • Reducing email response time & increasing customer service effectiveness
  • Achieving exceptional quality audit results via the telephone and via email
  • Ensuring applications are reviewed in a responsible manner and great outcomes are delivered
  • Assisting with inbound loan applications calls when required

 

Key Skills for Assistant Loan Underwriter

  • Commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Ability to cope under pressure and multi-task within a team
  • Ability to work flexibly where the demands of the role require (including assisting with inbound loan application calls)
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of quality and accuracy at an effective speed
  • Previous experience in reviewing documentation related to a loan, credit card or mortgage would be an advantage
