Every employer is not the same and WHO you work for and what that environment looks like is the difference between ANY job and a GREAT job.  At our client, a mid-sized financial services provider (circa. 200 FTE), they really do believe they are different with such a focus on their customer and their people.  In order to better serve their customers and to lead them through (and beyond) an exciting period of change, they are looking to recruit a Chief Information and Technology Officer, combining technical expertise with a business delivery focus.

 

Reporting directly to the CEO, your role will be to provide technology leadership across all aspects of their business with the ability to communicate with the Board, Executive Committee, employees, and key stakeholders to ensure that all investment in technology adds maximum value and is used appropriately and effectively. The Role is expected to include membership of the Executive Committee and is likely to include responsibilities under the SMF 24.  As a regulated role you will thus need to have a good knowledge of FCA regulations and so most likely have worked recently in the sector. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • To assume oversight of all the IT infrastructure and delivery of IT support and implementation 
  • Oversee and recommend the IT strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals 
  • Research and implement new technologies that deliver competitive advantage and streamline all internal operations to help optimise their strategic benefits
  • Procure the Design and customisation of IT systems and platforms to improve customer experience and maximise internal effectiveness
  • Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organisation
  • Oversee the IT infrastructure (networks and computer systems) to ensure appropriate functionality, optimal performance and service delivery within the financial constraints of the business
  • Provide Executive Committee oversight of the Society’s IT and Business Change related activities

  • Well-versed in current technological trends with experience of moving a business to a more cloud based infrastructure
  • Strong Cyber Security knowledge in relation to financial services providers
  • Strong and proven people management and leadership skills 
  • Proven experience as CIO/CTO or similar managerial role
  • Background in designing / developing IT systems and planning / executing IT implementation
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
