We are delighted to offer a unique and exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative and fast-growing company within Financial Services. If you enjoy working in a vibrant organisation which embraces data science and are truly customer-focussed but want something different than the usual Banking environment, then this is an opportunity for you.  Our client is a fintech consumer lender who are well established (over 5 years old and already lent £200m+) and heading for huge growth over the coming years following significant investment.  They have big plans to disrupt and become the dominant force in UK consumer credit using a data-led approach to everything we do.

As CPO, you will lead the financial and technical product strategy and the product function for the Group.  Unlike other technology driven CPO roles, this role is as much about the financial product as it is the technical. You must have extensive senior leadership or executive experience in consumer credit/lending customer acquisition, consumer credit risk management, credit pricing, analytics and regulatory compliance.

In addition to the financial product, you will also be lead of the technical and digital product, such as the customer journeys and customer portals. The scope of your role will be:

  • Leadership
  • Financial product strategy (1st line credit, 1st line pricing & 1st line compliance)
  • Technical product strategy, product management and product marketing
  • Project management and stakeholder engagement

As well as knowledge of the following areas, to help you set the standards we are aiming to achieve:

  • Best-in-class product propositions spanning all areas of consumer and B2B software, for example, Airbnb, Shopify and Netflix
  • Best-in-class product propositions in financial services, for example, Capital One, Klarna and Stripe
  • UK consumer credit markets, particularly the personal loans, retail finance and auto finance markets

You will also be responsible for regularly reviewing and updating your product strategy, to ensure it is current both in terms of the business' strategy but also as market trends develop.  To be successful in developing this product strategy you will have experience and capability of bringing together the following areas of the business:

Financial product skills - consumer credit/lending customer acquisition, consumer credit risk management, credit pricing, automation, analytics and regulatory compliance

Technical product skills and experiences - Web-applications and user interfaces, data science and analytics, product and customer research, end-to-end product and project management

You will report to the CEO, and you will have approximately up to 30 colleagues in your 1st line cross functional teams once we have reached scale over the next 3 years. If you are experienced in this type of role within a fintech environment then please apply now to find out more.
