Every employer is not the same and WHO you work for and what that environment looks like is the difference between ANY job and a GREAT job.  At our client, a mid-sized financial services provider, they really do believe they are different with such a focus on their customer and their people.  In order to better serve their customers and support their individual financial needs, they are looking to recruit a Commercial Portfolio & Arrears Manager, combining technical Commercial Mortgage lending expertise with leadership skills.

You will lead a team who champion the 1st line credit risk function for a Commercial Mortgage portfolio (incl. ownership of residential flats) and Financial Support services by providing and promoting an excellent customer service and managing and mitigating credit risks.

One of the key responsibilities includes management of a non-core portfolio of commercial and residential home properties including:

  • Provision of technical advice to and relationship management of commercial clients
  • Provide appropriate recommendations in relation to management strategies of the portfolio
  • Underwrite commercial credit applications in line with the risk appetite
  • Undertake financial analysis, monitoring of rental agreements/ lease / covenant compliance and robust commercial/DHL monitoring through agreed annual reviews

In addition to this you will have responsibility for the management of the financial support function which supports residential borrowers who are experiencing financial difficulties pre, during and post arrears.   This is a strong team with a strong team leader so you will be more responsible for direction and strategy of the team, not day to day management.  For this reason, this role can be done largely from home if you do not live within daily commuting distance of Darlington.

If all of the above makes you think they could be your great employer, experience required for the role is:

  • Commercial underwriting experience or portfolio book management including renegotiating commercial terms, management of commercial arrears and holding a commercial mandate
  • Management experience including people and performance management
  • Directing and supporting implementation of new systems and processes to create efficiencies

If you are an experienced and highly customer focussed commercial mortgage professional who wants to work for an employer who cares about the their customers and the local community as well as its employees, then apply now.
