We are delighted to offer a unique and exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative and fast-growing consumer finance fintech lender.  If you enjoy working in a vibrant organisation which embraces data science and are truly customer-focussed but want something different than the usual corporate environment, then this is an opportunity for you.  Our client are well established (over 5 years old and already lent £200m+) and heading for huge growth over the coming years following significant investment.  They have big plans to disrupt and become the dominant force in UK consumer credit using a data-led approach to everything we do.

As part of their journey they have created a new company (separate legal entity but part of the overall group) that will house the on-balance sheet lending activity for the group, complementing the well-established and market leading P2P platform. The company will enter in to consumer lending agreements arranged via the P2P platform, and be responsible for structuring and managing the assets and liabilities position, funding arrangements, and outsourced loan origination and servicing activities undertaken of the new company.

In executing on this strategy, our client is seeking a compliance manager to establish and lead an independent compliance function. You will need to be adept at managing compliance for both outsourced activities (primarily with the P2P platform) and retained functions (including funding arrangements).

Your key responsibility will be to design the framework for, and implement independent compliance oversight of:

  • Outsourced consumer lending activities (e.g. financial promotions, regulated consumer credit agreements, loan servicing arrangement)
  • Outsourced central function activities (e.g. Client money, InfoSec)
  • Retained activities e.g. funding, including securitisation regulation

Other responsibilities include:

  • Fulfil compliance related SMF functions (SMF 16 / 17) and ensure compliance with SM&CR
  • Manage regulatory engagement and reporting
  • Produce MI to monitor compliance
  • Provide advice to and support the Board with compliance matters
  • Assist with external audits

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous compliance experience within an FCA regulated environment
  • Good knowledge of FCA rules and regulations relevant to the consumer credit sector
  • An awareness of Risk Management Frameworks as applied to an FCA regulated business
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Very organised and a strong attention to detail
  • Flexible and willing to embrace both change and technology

This is a great opportunity to work with one of the rising stars in FinTech and be part of a vibrant, customer focussed team who offer flexible working (even after Covid) and embrace a positive work/life balance.
