Introduction:

Every employer is not the same and who you work for and what that environment looks like is the difference between any job and a great job.  Newbury Building Society is different, here are just a few of the reasons why:

  • The business is mutual - owned by the people who choose this business for their borrowing and saving needs
  • The customer is at the heart of everything, ensuring a consistently first-class experience for new and existing customers
  • There is a commitment to support the personal development of all employees
  • Strong local charity and community partnerships are developed
  • An industry leader, being the recent winner in the category of “Best Building Society” at the British Bank Awards

The Executive Assistant role:

  • Compiling data and preparing, editing and proof-reading
  • Proactively planning and preparing for meetings, including agenda and logistics, preparation of materials and recording of minutes and actions, where required

  • Design of ad hoc strategic events and relevant strategic research to present to Exec Directors

  • Proven experience of working with internal and/or external, customers to ensure the highest quality service experience
  • Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a great opportunity for someone to run and manage a small executive support function.  We currently have a hybrid working policy in place, up to 3 days a week on average WFH but with flexibility over your own diary.  However, in providing support to the Executive Team you will be required to attend the office for regular meetings and sometimes at short notice so it is important that you live within a commutable distance of Newbury.  The role can be done on either a full or part time basis, down to a minimum of 28hrs and working across at least 4 days of the week.
