Our client is an award winning and highly customer focussed financial services provider. As Head of Marketing you will be integral to the ambitious growth plans of the business and as such, you will report directly in to the CEO and be part of the Senior Management Team, Chairing the Product & Pricing Committee and attend Board meetings.

 

The main purpose of the role is to direct and lead the design, development, and implementation of the marketing strategy; to ensure achievement of mortgage (Direct & Broker) and savings sales; and member retention, to define and own customer journeys for savings & borrowing members. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Devise a costed marketing strategy based on customer profile, target markets, business objectives, products and delivery channels for approval by the Executive. Set out clear customer journeys for savers & borrowers
  • Implementation of the strategy using the available resources, measuring and reporting the results achieved and adapting where necessary to drive product changes and feedback about the effectiveness of various channels and campaigns.
  • Optimise delivery of all external communications including digital, direct, PR, and traditional media to drive brand awareness and generate sales opportunities. 
  • Ensure that sales plans are achieved and jointly line manage the Head of Lending and Head of Savings with the COO to deliver this. Work with colleagues across the business to facilitate adoption of a marketing led culture.
  • Accountability for effective use of the approved marketing budget enhancing the ROI from all marketing activity and showing a clear cause and effect.
  • Own the relationships with affinity partners and marketing agencies
  • Use research and profiling techniques, including quantitative statistical analysis and qualitative measures such as focus groups, to understand our current and potential customer base, and how these might be profitably grown and extended.
  • Analyse data from marketing campaigns, understand their effectiveness and adapt future marketing activities in response to this.
  • Ensure that all products are accompanied by well-written and effective collateral which meets all regulatory requirements and the information needs of customers and intermediaries.
  • Lead the operations and development of the Marketing team, delegating effectively and appropriately.

 

Key Skills & Experiences required:

 

  • Knowledge of Marketing and Sales which typically would be acquired by a relevant degree and/or professional marketing qualification plus at least 10 years’ experience in marketing and sales environment
  • Financial Services background ideally within the mortgage and savings arena
