Our client is a highly successful, award winning specialist mortgage lender who have ambitious plans for growth over the coming years. To strengthen their People Team at a time of extraordinary change, they are looking for a HR Business Partner.

The main purpose of this role is to support the Head of People to help develop and implement better people management practices. As the People Team is a small one, the HR Business Partner will be very hands on and is responsible for meeting the administrative requirements of the function too.


Responsibilities for HR Business Partner

  • Provide counsel, advice, and guidance to their people managers on all colleague relations matters such as performance, well-being, disciplinary, grievance, absence, ill health, capability, and conduct.
  • Researching, designing, implementing, and assessing people management initiatives and frameworks to support the People Plan.
  • Horizon scanning for changes in legislation and regulation. Proposing and implementing changes to HR policies, practices, and procedures as a result.
  • Drafting and revising employment policies, procedures, handbook, job descriptions, templates and letters, manager guides.
  • Management of HR systems including accuracy of stored data, service provision, updates, cyclical processes, and third-party relationships.
  • Producing MI, reports, and statistics to help identify patterns and trends to inform our approach.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of both manual and electronic employee records in line with data protection law.
  • Manage recruitment campaigns working closely with the hiring manager and participating in interviews. Managing the onboarding and induction process.
  • Administration of offers, change of contract terms, leavers, family leave, benefits, and training.
  • Manage the SMCR process in conjunction with Head of People
  • Support Head of People to deliver the People Plan.


Key Skills for HR Business Partner

  • CIPD Qualified or working towards CIPD 
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Strong employment law knowledge
  • Experience working in a People/HR department, managing multiple priorities

Working hours are 37 ½ hours per week with minimum of 3 days in office and 2 days working from home.
