Role: Intermediary Sales Adviser

Location: Newbury (the role is office based with some flexibility to wfh)

Hours:  Full time, Monday – Friday 9am - 5pm

Salary: £20,808 - £26,261 (dependent on exp and qualifications) + benefits

 

Are you customer focussed and looking to work as part of a friendly, busy and fast-paced team?

Newbury Building Society are looking for an Intermediary Sales Adviser to help the Intermediary Sales Team to run their centralised mortgage broker unit and meet Corporate Sales targets for introduced mortgages.

You will work as part of a friendly, busy and fast-paced team where you will be fully supported to gain the skills and experience required to;

 

  • Take ownership for managing a variety of enquiries via phone, email and our online service.
  • Convert new broker opportunities to applications
  • Identify and build new intermediary relationships in order to achieve business targets and develop a strong presence in our key business towns.

 

Essential criteria:

  • Sales and/or Customer Service experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Able to liaise with people from a variety of backgrounds in a positive and confident manner
  • Take ownership of your own workload including prioritising a variety of tasks
  • Able to use your initiative to solve problems and to challenge
  • Able to judge business risks and recognise when to refer decisions
  • General understanding of the Financial Services industry
  • Microsoft applications – Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Mathematical calculations

 

Desirable criteria:

  • Qualified to NVQ3/A Level standard
  • Financial Services or Management qualification at A level standard.
  • CeMAP qualified
  • Experience of mortgage underwriting and reviewing.
  • Good interpretation of Lending Policy with the ability to assess cases that fall outside
