If you enjoy working in a vibrant organisation which embraces data science and are truly customer-focussed but want something different than the usual Banking environment, then this is an opportunity for you.  Our client is a fintech consumer lender who are well established (over 6 years old and already lent £200m+) and heading for huge growth over the coming years following significant investment.  They have big plans to disrupt and become the dominant force in UK consumer credit using a data-led approach to everything they do.  

 

Joining their growing Data Science & Analytics team and using the latest technology stack, as the Lead BI Analyst you will help to design and build their next generation of Business Intelligence reports to measure and monitor business performance. Whilst projects come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, initial work will focus on loan performance data, credit data, customer acquisition data and financial transaction data as well as efforts to standardise KPIs and reports across different business areas.

 

You will also take a lead on helping to define best practices for Business Intelligence within their business and help to drive a culture of self-serve analytics. As part of the Data Science & Analytics team you will work cross-functionally with the opportunity to work with a variety of different stakeholders including the founders, the senior leadership team members, other members of the Data Science & Analytics team and many more.

 

Responsibilities of the Lead BI Analyst:

  • Design, develop and implement BI solutions whilst ensuring consistency and scalability
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders to gather requirements and lead design workshops
  • Development of wire-frames and rapid proto-types
  • Develop data standards and support definition of the technical foundation to enable business users to self-serve 
  • Lead efforts on data visualisation and reporting standards across
  • Review existing BI landscape and identify opportunities for simplification
  • Ensure consistency of data definition, aggregation and reuse within the BI landscape
  • Mentor more junior members of team

 

Required skills and experience of the Lead BI Analyst:

  • Degree in an analytical subject (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science etc.)
  • Familiarity with multiple BI tools (especially Tableau and Quicksight) with a deep expertise in at least one
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience designing, developing and testing BI solutions
  • Experience leading and managing BI projects as well as mentoring
  • Excellent communication and data story-telling skills
  • Strong Data analysis, data modelling and database design capabilities
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in BI
  • Knowledge of AWS components and exposure to Python programming would be advantageous as would financial services sector experience
