Introduction to the role:

 

Our client is the Penrith Building Society, a highly customer focussed, specialist financial services provider who are recruiting for a new position of Marketing & Communications Manager.  This is a great opportunity for an experienced marketeer with a creative spirit and financial services experience, in particular knowledge of Savings products.

 

As Marketing & Communications Manager you will be responsible for the marketing of their mortgage and savings products across digital, intermediary and branch channels and including all external communications and PR activity, including use of social channels. The salary for this role is £34-38k FTE and the role is offered on a 4 day a week basis, but with flexibility within those days of when hours are worked. This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate is expected to be in the Penrith Office 1 day a week.

 

Core Responsibilities of the Marketing & Communications Manager:

 

  • Development of the marketing and communications plan for the Society
  • Execution of the marketing plan through digital, intermediary and branch channels.
  • Development and execution of campaigns to support our new business targets across both mortgages and savings
  • Development and execution of marketing campaigns to support our retention targets
  • Management of external communications and PR activity, including management of our social channels
  • Ensuring our website and associated brochureware reflects our brand values, tone of voice and is effective in supporting our new business and retention targets
  • Work closely with product and technology teams to help improve our digital customer experience
  • Attend external events/ forums (including mortgage broker events) from time to time and as required

 

Experience & skills required for the Marketing & Communications Manager:

 

  • Previous experience in marketing of retail mortgages or savings products across multiple channels, including digital
  • A track record of developing innovative and creative marketing campaigns
  • Experience in SEO and social media marketing and comms would be a distinct advantage
  • A good understanding of regulatory requirements relating to the marketing of savings and products, including a good understanding of the outcomes that need to be delivered under Consumer Duty
  • Excellent communications skills - both written and verbal
