Our client is a small but successful mortgage lender who are expanding and are therefore looking to recruit a Business Development Manager. The main purpose of the role is to stimulate growth in strategically aligned new lending business and develop and maintain productive relationships with new and existing mortgage brokers, IFA’s, Mortgage Clubs/Networks, & packagers. This is a focused sales role that requires a proactive, determined, and self-motivated approach to achieving sales objectives and targets in a compliant manner.

Key deliverables:

  • Ongoing research and understanding of the niche lending market, including market and competitor analysis.
  • Using the Product Governance process, make recommendations for new niches, propositions, or criteria/rate changes to stimulate new lending enquiries
  • Build a network of contacts with intermediaries, networks, mortgage clubs/ networks, and packagers, ensuring they have a presence wherever necessary and feeding back market intelligence.
  • Build network of regional employers & house builders to identify opportunities for customised schemes and offers
  • Work with Intermediary partners to promote and best position mortgage propositions and identify new opportunities to grow business levels.
  • Develop and oversee delivery of broker and direct mortgage product, distribution, marketing & communications plans, ensuring they are of the right impact and scale required to meet our ambitions.
  • Provide a point of reference and contact for intermediaries to discuss the Society’s products, lending criteria and specific mortgage cases.
  • Build dashboard of M.I to enable analysis of lending pipeline and broker/intermediary activity to inform future actions and recommendations.
  • Provide input into the product development process and the ongoing development of the intermediary sales strategy.

The ideal candidate:

  • Ideally Ce-Map qualified
  • Experience of working in a Business Development role within the residential intermediary mortgage market
  • Existing network of residential mortgage intermediary contacts
  • Able to develop and maintain exceptional relationships and contacts with mortgage intermediaries
  • An excellent understanding/knowledge of the residential mortgage market.
  • A passion for sales with a proven track record of achieving/exceeding sales objectives and targets.
  • Able to challenge existing processes where necessary and to be able to contribute to mortgage product development
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence – this is essential to be able to perform this role
