Mortgage Services Technical Support

Due to significant growth in mortgage lending and a strategy of expansion, our client, a niche mortgage and savings provider, is looking to add to and strengthen their mortgage team with the addition of a mortgage specialist.


Reporting to the Mortgage Services Manager, as the Mortgages Services Technical Support you will be deputising for all aspects of arrears in the absence of the Mortgage Services Manager.  Additionally assisting with non-day to day tasks related to new mortgage business processing such as completing due diligence of intermediaries, engaging with systems/providers used by the business (both external and internal), for arrears and mortgage processing relating to new features, regulatory changes and testing.  You will also be assisting with new business processing  as required.


Duties will include: 

  • Deliver effective cover for the arrears function from initial missed payment stage through to the administration of repossession and legal action where necessary.
  • Determination of appropriate forbearance arrangements in line with the arrears Management Policy and Arrears Procedures
  • Actively identify and support those customers in vulnerable circumstances to ensure the best possible outcomes as per the Society’s Vulnerable Customer Policy.
  • Responsible for administration tasks within the team which fall outside of the core processing roles including, but not limited to: Intermediary Due Diligence, internal/external audit requests, ad-hoc reporting.
  • Liaising with external system providers and internal IT team, ensuring that any new developments fully meet the needs of the Department, this will include including user acceptance testing of new functionality, amendments to support regulatory changes, also ensuring any internal dependencies are identified and addressed. 
  • Proactively make recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies, highlighting new system functionality.
  • Processing of pre-underwriting checks, valuation instructions and offer packaging and other underwriting support tasks for new mortgage applications.  


The successful candidate will have strong experience in an arrears / collections environment as well as knowledge of the key stages in the house purchasing process.  You will either have the Certificate in Consumer Debt Collection (CertDC) or similar or be prepared to train towards qualification.
