Role: Mortgage Underwriting Administration Assistant

Location: Head Office Newbury

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm

Salary: £20,409 - £21,484 (dependent on exp).

The role of Mortgage Underwriting Administration Assistant is varied and busy, here is what you can expect:     

  • You will be the first point of contact for telephone and email enquiries from applicants, borrowers, internal customers and third parties, so you will need to a confident communicator.
  • Your passion to provide a consistently high customer experience is essential, alongside the willingness to learn and support the team with a pro-active and organised approach.
  • The team will help you to learn how to effectively plan, prioritise, and organise your working day, using technology and online tools.
  • A flexible approach and the need to remain calm when plans change is important too. 
  • Dealing with customer information and finances, accuracy and a logical approach to minimise errors is essential. 
  • Compliance with procedures is important, but our teams are encouraged to seek ways to improve processes and solve problems.

Essential criteria:

  • Experience of working with customers, face to face or by telephone
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • GCSE level 4 or equivalent maths and English

 

Desirable criteria:           

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Awareness/understanding of mortgage administration processes
