Mortgage Underwriting Administration Assistant

 

 

We are looking for an Administration Assistant within our Mortgage Underwriting department to provide excellent customer service, meeting customers’ needs by supporting mortgage underwriters, resolving queries and administering mortgage accounts effectively and efficiently.

 

Reporting to the Mortgage Underwriting Team Leader, the key responsibilities of the role are to administer mortgage transactions accurately and to support the mortgage underwriters by setting up mortgage files in order for applications to be processed efficiently.

 

 

Essential criteria for the role are:

 

  • GCSE or equivalent standard of education
  • Maths & English grade C or above
  • General office/admin experience
  • Customer service experience face to face and/or telephone
  • Experience of resolving telephone queries, and following up calls
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Able to do relevant mathematical calculations
  • Able to use Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely face to face, on the telephone and in writing
  • Attention to details / accuracy
  • Enthusiastic, positive and cheerful
  • Takes initiative and makes suggestions for improvements
  • Supportive of others in a team

 

 

Desirable criteria for the role are:

 

  • Customer Service Qualification
  • Experience in a similar role in a Bank or Building Society
  • General understanding of mortgage administration processes

 

 

This is a full time role, working 9am- 5pm, Monday to Friday.

This role is based at our Head Office in Newbury.

 

Starting salary is £18,000-£18,500 plus benefits, rising to £19,050 once fully competent.
