Our client is an established, successful and customer focussed financial services provider who are looking to further strengthen their risk and compliance team with this new position.  Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the purpose of the role is to provide a risk & compliance oversight and challenge to the business.  

There will be training, support and guidance from an experienced CRO and so you will not be expected to pick up all of the duties immediately. This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone from an Internal Audit /  Accountancy / Finance / Operational / Conduct Risk background preferably from the Insurance industry with exposure to how sales teams operate who is looking for a long-term Risk & Compliance career.

Duties will include: 

  • Be responsible for the production of periodic Risk & Compliance management information to the leadership function, governance forums incl. the Board and regulators as required under the guidance of the Compliance Officer 
  • Analyse themes and trends from available MI 
  • Ensure the timely action and closure of monitoring and audit findings 
  • Support the Risk & Compliance Officers in the delivery of the annual monitoring plan 
  • Support the Compliance Officer with gap analysis of existing and proposed regulation and best practice 
  • Support the wider business functions with daily compliance and risk queries

The successful candidate will have: -

  • At least 18months knowledge, experience and understanding of the UK regulatory environment within an insurance environment (including Solvency 2 and IDD)
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management frameworks 
  • Ideally will hold, or is working towards, a risk or insurance-based qualification 
  • Advanced Excel skills and PM experience ideally.
