This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Financial Accountant to join the Finance team and play a key role across financial reporting, technical accounting, regulatory reporting, tax and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the preparation of the Annual Report & Accounts.
• Preparing and maintaining technical accounting assessments and methodologies across loan impairment, effective interest rate adjustments, financial instruments and hedge accounting.
• Leading relationships with auditors & coordinating audit requirements.
• Supporting annual P&L and balance sheet budgeting and the 5-year planning process.

The successful candidate will possess:

• A qualified accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Relevant post-qualification experience within financial accounting, statutory reporting or a similar environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience of financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, auditors and external advisers.
• Experience within a bank, building society, mortgage lender or wider financial services environment would be particularly relevant, especially where you have exposure to statutory reporting, technical accounting, regulatory reporting, financial instruments, impairment or financial services regulation.

You'll get hands-on exposure to a broad range of treasury activity, from trade execution and Bank of England operations to hedging, liquidity and HQLA portfolio management. What you'll be doing

• Executing treasury products including interest rate and FX swaps, money market investments, repo and fixed income securities, in line with Market Risk Policy
• Participating in Bank of England Sterling Monetary Framework (SMF) operations and funding activities alongside Treasury ALM colleagues
• Monitoring markets, yield curves, interest rate expectations and macroeconomic developments, and sharing market intelligence and trade ideas

Duties of the Collections Consultant will include:

• Handling inbound and outbound calls across phone, email, SMS, and WhatsApp within SLA.
• Contacting customers in arrears to discuss their situation and agree sustainable repayment arrangements.
• Setting up and maintaining repayment plans, direct debits, and forbearance arrangements accurately.
• Processing IVA and DMP notifications.
• Identifying vulnerable customers and applying the appropriate vulnerability process.
• Completing all case records and call notes accurately after every interaction.
• Meeting daily and monthly contact and quality targets.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Experience in a consumer debt collections team.
• Familiarity with IVA and DMP processes and the account actions they require (desirable but not essential.)
• Good negotiation/objection handling skills and an empathetic nature.

Our client is a mortgage and savings specialist, and they have a fantastic opportunity for experienced arrears professional, to join their servicing team.

The role will be focussing on speaking to customers who have found themselves in financial difficulty and coming to a resolution that benefits both the customer and our client. The role will also gain you exposure to more complex lending/arrears, such as commercial portfolios and interest only lending, as our client is happy to train the successful individual in these areas.

Duties will include:

• Rehabilitation of customers to reduce the number of Recoveries/Repossessions.
• To ensure efficient processes and procedures are in place to monitor and address mortgage arrears and forbearance.
• To ensure there are monitoring processes and control on interest only mortgage repayment strategies (including commercial loans)
• To ensure there are monitoring processes and control on mortgages due to expire and those have expired.
• To identity, pay attention and adapt to the needs of customers and colleagues with characteristics of vulnerability
• Quality of book – Identify areas of potential risk through gap analysis
• Liaise with Solicitors and Estate Agents with regards to repossessing a property taking the process through to sale completion

The successful candidate will possess:

• Previous Mortgage Arrears experience.
• Experience of the full end to end Arrears process.
• Confident approach to speaking with customers regarding their financial difficulties.
• Experience with more specialised lending would be highly desirable.
