The Director of Operations will join their senior leadership team and be accountable for ensuring the society can safely, efficiently and sustainably scale in line with their growth strategy. The role owns day-to-day operations, capacity, and cost efficiency, ensuring that growth ambitions are deliverable without compromising member outcomes, regulatory expectations, or control standards. The operational delivery is across servicing, lending, savings and the branch network.
Responsibilities will include:
- Own end-to-end operational delivery across member servicing, lending operations, savings operations, and branches.
- Ensure operational capacity and capability scale in line with growth forecasts.
- Own the cost base across operations.
- Drive productivity, automation, and simplification to flatten the cost curve as volumes increase.
- Ensure operational readiness for new products, propositions, and changes.
- Act as the primary operational counterpart to technology and change initiatives.
- Accountable for operational supplier performance.
- Ensure the operational areas have the right skills, roles, and structures to support growth.
- Champion a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and member focus.
- Ensure operational risks are identified, managed, and escalated appropriately.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Senior operational leadership experience within a regulated financial services environment.
- Proven track record of scaling operations during growth.
- Strong understanding of operational resilience and regulatory expectations.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to balance service, cost, and control.
- Collaborative leader, comfortable operating across growth, risk, and technology agendas.

Due to the nature of the role, the Chorley would like this role holder to be based predominately on site, especially during the first 12 months of employment.
