Financial Crime Analyst
Up to £35k + excellent benefits

Hybrid (just once each week into the office)

Our client is a trusted mortgage lender established many years ago and they are recruiting for a Financial Crime Analyst to join their small team. You will be mainly working from home with office presence required just once each week.
The purpose of the role is to assist the Regulatory Compliance Manager with Financial Crime activities, complying with requests under the UK General Data Protection Regulations.

Summary of responsibilities of the Financial Crime Analyst:

  • Review AML transactional and sanctions reports (daily, bi-monthly, monthly, quarterly).
  • Review HMT sanctions notices against customer databases.
  • Manage and progress KYC referrals for higher-risk customers.
  • Support the Fraud Officer with investigations and reporting (internal and external).
  • Support the Nominated Officer with money laundering investigations and reporting (internal and external).
  • Review and update customer details/portfolios before upload or removal from third-party screening systems.
  • Assist with data subject rights requests within statutory deadlines under the guidance of the Data Protection Officer.
  • Contribute to management information and statutory regulatory reporting as directed by the Head/Manager of Regulatory Compliance, within agreed timescales.

Requirements of the Financial Crime Analyst:

Skills

  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of AML, sanctions, KYC, fraud, and data protection.
  • Investigative, reporting, and data management skills.
  • Clear communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in compliance systems and MS Office.

Experience

  • Background in AML, financial crime, or compliance from within a mortgage lender or other regulated environment such as insurance or pensions.
  • KYC and sanctions screening experience.
  • Exposure to investigations and regulatory reporting.
  • Familiarity with data protection and DSARs.
