We are delighted to be partnering with the Furness Building Society to recruit a key role within its Treasury function.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, analytical and collaborative Treasury professional to join the Society as Treasury Manager. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a central role in supporting the effective management of the Society’s Treasury and Asset & Liability Management (ALM) activities.

Reporting to the Group Treasurer, you will provide high-quality analysis, forecasting and insight to support informed decision-making and help ensure the Society maintains a strong and effective balance sheet.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the preparation of ALCO papers and producing clear, insightful Treasury reporting and dashboards for senior management committees.
  • Leading asset and liability forecasting, including financial modelling of the company balance sheet and key regulatory ratios.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of the liquidity, funding and hedging strategies.
  • Overseeing liquidity stress testing, regulatory reporting and the ongoing review of Treasury policies, controls and prudential limits.
  • Working collaboratively across the business and with external providers to improve Treasury systems, reporting and decision-making.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A part or full accountancy qualification, such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA, or a part or full Treasury qualification, such as CertBALM or AMCT.
  • Experience within a Treasury or Asset and Liability Management function in a bank or building society.
  • Strong financial modelling and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using financial planning systems or MI and reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex Treasury information into clear insights for senior management and the Board.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience within retail banking or a building society who has knowledge of the UK mortgage and retail savings markets, liquidity, funding, capital management and interest rate risk.

As well as a competitive salary, benefits include up to 10% bonus, pension up to 10% employer contribution and life insurance. P
