Our client is a customer focussed regional Building Society and are recruiting a Business Development Manager covering the South of England. As a Business Development Manager, much of your time will be spent on the road visiting mortgage intermediaries in and around London and the South, however, there will be requirement to visit head office from time to time which is based in the Midlands.

 

As a Business Development Manager, here is a taste of what you will be doing:

  • Actively and positively promote the Society and its products and services primarily in the London and South
  • Identifying brokers from within their National and Key Account relationships where there is the potential to write a good volume of quality mortgage business.
  • Developing and building close working relationships with identified brokers with regular visitations to promote and sell the Society’s products.
  • Undertaking the required number of weekly visits to identified distributors to promote the product range and educating them effectively 
  • Develop relationships with mortgage brokers, networks, and clubs as well as packagers and other large distributors
  • Achievement of targets of new business within budgeted margin, risk and income by actively and effectively communicating about products, criteria, lending policy and overall mortgage proposition. 
  • Assist the Intermediary Sales Support Team handling telephone calls and processing decisions in principle when volumes are high, and cover holidays and other absences.
  • Keeping the ISS CRM system and performance logs up to date with accurate details of enquiries and other sales activity.

 

Skills and experiences required for the Business Development Manager:

  • Ability to travel to the South of England
  • Good understanding of the UK intermediary mortgage market
  • Mortgage sales experience
  • Proven track record of sales success 
  • Excellent customer service skills
