Our client is a financial services provider offering an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence Analyst. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with new technology and delve deep into data.

Job Description:
The Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate with IT, Finance, and Operations to meet the business reporting needs promptly and consistently. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining pipelines, architectures, and data sets. The analyst will work with various departments to ensure data and content accuracy and will be responsible for summarising data and presenting results. This role is offered as a hybrid, so candidates should live within a commutable distance of Head Office in East Dorset.

Company Size:
An SME with approximately 90 full-time employees. This size allows for significant influence on the data architecture of the business. The role requires proactivity, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Automate the collection of disparate data sources to Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.
  • Produce underlying SQL (tables, views, stored procedures, SSIS packages, etc.) to enable the production of critical datasets.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure data accurately reflects business requirements.
  • Assist management with the company’s ongoing Data Strategy.
  • Test and produce reporting solutions across all functions.
  • Publish team-specific interactive dashboards with conclusions.
  • Integrate reporting solutions into broader business applications.
  • Manage end-user reporting deployments.
  • Enable self-service business intelligence that gives business end-users direct access.
  • Analyse data to create and support business cases and effect change within the business.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to exploit Infrastructure technology to optimise production.
  • Manage presentational reporting to support decision making by Management, Committees, and Board.

Requirements:

  • Technical and mathematically oriented skills.
  • Strong experience in Oracle/MSSQL databases and SQL scripting.
  • Experience in data extraction and preparation from various systems using AzureDataFactory or DataBricks.
  • Ability to create environments, pipelines, workflows, reports, and work with complex data sets.
  • Experience in building and publishing reports in Tableau, Power BI, and sharing data sets to Excel power users.
