Shape the digital future of a purpose-driven mutual.

We’re delighted to be partnering with Teachers Building Society, a well-respected, education-focused mutual, as they continue to evolve and expand their impact in the financial services space.

With a clear social purpose, they’re now investing in the kind of operational excellence and digital maturity that will futureproof their member experience.

This is a newly created Executive position and a pivotal one. As Chief Information and Technology Officer (SMF24), you’ll lead the Society’s technology and operations function through its next phase of transformation. You’ll have strategic and regulatory accountability for everything from IT infrastructure and cyber resilience to mortgage and savings servicing and digital customer journeys.

What you'll lead:

  • The development and execution of a forward-looking technology and operations strategy aligned to the Society’s purpose and plan.
  • Digital transformation across origination and servicing, improving operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Cultural change across IT and servicing, embedding innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversight of all IT systems, infrastructure, data governance, cybersecurity and service delivery.
  • Operational resilience and regulatory compliance, fulfilling the responsibilities of SMF24.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven leadership across IT and operations, ideally within a regulated environment (financial services or similar).
  • A track record of shaping and delivering digital change not just systems, but culture, service and outcomes.
  • A clear grasp of operational risk, regulatory requirements, and service standards in customer-centric settings.
  • Relevant professional certifications (ITIL, PRINCE2, CISSP, CISM, ICA etc) are highly desirable.

Why this, why now?

This isn’t just about keeping the lights on. It’s about modernising and reimagining how a trusted mutual delivers value to its members. You’ll join a values-led, commercially ambitious team with strong leadership and support, where your voice will shape both strategy and culture.

In return, you’ll receive:

  • Up to £120,000 salary
  • Matched pension up to 10%
  • 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
  • Private Medical Insurance, Health Insurance & enhanced family leave
  • Discretionary bonus & more
