We have a new Company Secretary opportunity within an award winning financial services provider based in South Buckinghamshire.  Working at Board level and part of the Senior Management Team, they are a PRA / FCA regulated lender and you will be working in a relatively small environment with circa. 40 employees in the business. This will be a busy and varied role which will involve liaison with individuals at all levels throughout the business and externally in particular with the regulator. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised, proactive individual with a “right first time” attitude and would fit someone who is looking for a good work / life balance.


Typical duties will include: 

  • The arrangement and conduct of all Board, Committee, Annual General and Special Meetings including logistics, agendas, Board Pack preparation and distribution and minute taking
  • Preparation of the Annual Report and Business Review and the maintenance of the Memorandum and Rules of the business
  • Liaison with the External Auditors with regards to the Annual Report
  • Regular review, updates and control of Board Manual
  • Managing the main insurance policies and dealing with claims as they arise
  • Ensuring the lender is licenced for activity governed by the Consumer Credit Act.


Skills, Qualification, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Company Secretarial experience / Chartered Secretarial qualification
  • Corporate Governance knowledge and experience
  • General financial services industry knowledge and experience would be advantageous, otherwise exposure to a highly regulated environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A can-do attitude and active team player prepared to go “the extra mile”
