If you enjoy working in a vibrant organisation and are truly customer-focussed but want something different than the usual Retail Banking environment, then this is an opportunity for you.  Our client is a peer-to-peer lender, a relatively new concept and heading for huge growth over the coming years.

This new team member will be responsible for both creative modelling projects, as well as research and analysis projects. Specifics of the role include:

  • Modelling - exploring specific challenges, then proposing, designing, building and implementing models to enhance the business Analysis - using a range of skills and tools to analyse data
  • Projects will come in a variety of shapes and sizes and will be focused predominantly on credit data, customer acquisition data and financial transaction data.
  • While this team member will be part of the analytics team and thus reporting to our Lead Data Scientist, they will work closely with the founders, the senior leadership team members and many other members of the team.

Required skills and experience

  • At least three years’ experience as a data scientist with a deep understanding of UK consumer credit data, such as credit bureaux data, thus has worked in a financial institution
  • Expert in predictive modelling such as random forest, regression analysis, gradient boosting
  • Expert in the following languages and tools; Python, R, SQL Capable of creating well-written project reports that will be reviewed internally and externally
  • Organised and strategic approach to their work
  • Experience working with leadership team members and executives
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics or a similar subject

Desirable skills

  • Deep understanding of Equifax, Callcredit data and/or Open Banking data in AWS Lambda, AWS SageMaker, AWS Glue, TableauExperience
  • Experience in a neural network algorithm
  • Experience working in FinTech
  • Knowledge and experience of the modern technologies powering the growth of firms
  • Postgraduate degree in mathematics, statistics or a similar subject
