Our client, a small but successful financial services organisation are looking to strengthen their team by recruiting a Deputy Operations Manager. The main purpose of the role will be to support the Operations Manager in the efficient and compliant operation of Savings, Marketing and Mortgage Administration including line management responsibilities. Although a full-time role, reduced hours would be considered for the right candidate.

  • Operational resilience including Incident management (reporting, resolution, and implementation)
  • Overall day to day operations including ad hoc system and implementation plans
  • Effective planning and delivery of assigned operational projects
  • Support the Operations Manager in Change Management
  • Provide day to day management and support to the Mortgage Administration, Savings and Marketing functions (via Team Leaders)
  • To develop an effective working relationship with all other departments and functions, Internal Audit. Appropriate third-party suppliers and the Regulators 
  • In conjunction with the HR manager conduct/manage training for all responsible departments both regulatory and skills based
  • To keep abreast of changes in regulation likely to impact own areas of responsibility directly or indirectly
  • Manage the complaints process ensuring adherence with the complaints process and regulatory requirements and provide Management and regulatory reporting on a timely basis
  • Representing the organisation at seminars and conferences as appropriate
  • Working positively with the Compliance department to implement change and monitoring plans across managed departments
  • Actively highlight to the Operations Manager areas for improvement within own area of responsibility
  • Deputise for the Operations Manager when required

The successful candidate will:

  • Have substantial financial services experience
  • Previous experience of coaching, training and motivating a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels
  • Commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, insightful with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure with decision making responsibilities
  • Experience in working within an Operations Team
  • Preferably exposure to both mortgages and savings environments
