Introduction:

 

Our client is a customer focussed, award winning and established local financial services provider.  Owing to significant growth in their loan book and continued expansion, they have a new role which is Head of Mortgage Services.

 

Reporting to the Director of Operations and responsible for a total 35 FTE (incl. 2 x Managers), the key purpose of the Head of Mortgage Operations is the effective performance and management of the lifecycle of their Mortgage product (excl. Sales).  The key areas of the team are Underwriting, Servicing, Advising and Arrears Management.

 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Delivery of volume performance, operational effectiveness and day-to-day service management of the mortgage portfolio
  • Maintaining an effective risk & control environment
  • Embedding appropriate conduct risk assessment processes in the business to ensure that they operate within agreed risk tolerances in an appropriate control environment with due regard for regulatory principles.
  • Responsible for compliant mortgage sales and for ownership of the T&C scheme by which advisers attain and maintain competence

 

 

The ideal Head of Mortgage Services will have:

 

  • Previous experience in managing large, multi-disciplined mortgage operations based teams
  • Analytical and sound decision making skills
  • Report writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt style and interact at all levels, maintaining credibility
  • Innovative thinker
  • Good understanding / previous experience of operational issues in financial services
