Our client is a small but highly successful niche lender who are looking to add an Administrator to their current mortgage team. As a Mortgage Administration Assistant and member of the Mortgage Team you will be enthusiastic, accurate, customer service driven and a good team player whilst providing a high level of service to internal and external customers at all times. Supporting the rest of the team along with developing your own potential within the role is key.

Key tasks

  • Carry out regulatory checks of FCA register for Broker permissions
  • Carry out checks for Solicitors with Solicitors Regulatory Authority and Law Society
  • ID and fraud prevention checks
  • Carrying out Credit Reference checks on all applicants.
  • Issue instructions to Panel Valuers
  • Checking daily mortgage diaries and follow up of outstanding items
  • Telephone reception duties / general office duties as allocated
  • Mortgage Advisor admin support
  • Redemption of mortgage accounts from production of redemption statements to dispatch of the mortgage deeds.
  • To observe and comply with the Individual Conduct Rules contained in the FCA Handbook Code of Conduct (COCON).
  • Any other reasonable duties as required by Mortgage Supervisor

Person Specification

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills along with accurate administrative capabilities
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills and PC literacy (Word/Excel/Email)
  • Have an understanding of mortgages - desirable however not essential
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Be able to maintain a detailed level of knowledge to be able to effectively handle a wide range of mortgage related enquiries
  • Banking & Financial Services knowledge is desirable
  • Knowledge of current mortgage regulation is desirable
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a passion for producing quality work with high levels of accuracy
