Our client is an established, successful and customer focussed financial services provider who are looking to further strengthen their risk and compliance team with this new position. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the purpose of the role is to provide a risk oversight and challenge to the business. You will principally provide an independent assessment of the business’ use of Risk Management Framework and tools to identify, assess and manage risks within stated appetite, helping to embed the framework.
There will be training, support and guidance from an experienced CRO and so you will not be expected to pick all of the duties immediately. This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone from an Internal Audit / Accountancy / Finance, Operational /Conduct Risk background preferably from the Insurance industry with exposure to how sales teams operate who is looking for a long-term Risk & Compliance career.
Knowledge & Experience required:
- Relevant qualification would be desirable e.g. International Compliance Association/Institute or Risk Management, Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA)
- Understanding of the risk environment (particularly operational/conduct risk) and corporate governance
- General knowledge of financial services policies, business processes, procedures and controls
- General knowledge of financial services legislation, regulation, voluntary codes and legal issues
- Previous experience in life or general insurance would be desirable
