Are you a Senior Mortgage Underwriter who is available within the next month and looking to work in a role where you can really utilise your skillset and put the customer first?
Our client is a customer focussed mortgage and savings provider based in Stockport. They are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join their team on a 12 months fixed term contract. Over the past three years, they have undergone a significant amount of investment and change, with their overall vision to be the first choice of mortgages, savings and employment. That has culminated in a new system implementation and so they are looking for a candidate who can work on complex mortgage underwriting cases whilst some of the team are involved in the new system implementation.
The successful individual will be expected to be on site for the initial training period but after this, our client offers a hybrid approach to the working week with a minimum 2 days in the office.
Main duties of the Mortgage Underwriter will be:
- Personally assessing and underwriting applications for many types of residential and BTL lending.
- Ensuring you are operating within their risk appetite.
- Positively and professionally liaising with the sales teams, mortgage intermediaries and customers.
The successful individual will possess:
- Recent experience in manually underwriting residential and BTL mortgages with a senior level mandate.
- CeMap would be desirable, or the desire to study and obtain this qualification.
