Due to significant growth in mortgage lending and a strategy of expansion, our client, a niche mortgage and savings provider, is looking to add to and strengthen their Risk function with the addition of a Senior Risk Manager.
Our client is happy for this role to be fully remote, however there will be occasions they would require you to go to their Head office based in Dorset.
Reporting to the Legal Director/CRO, the Senior Risk Manger will have day-to-day responsibility for the lender’s risk management function and all aspects of the Risk Management Framework, including making proposals for its continuous improvement. A proactive self-starter, the successful candidate will be a risk all-rounder with strong relevant experience mainly in operational risk and resilience but also mortgage credit risk with a good familiarity with financial risks. This will ideally have been gained in a retail banking or building society environment.
You will work closely with the Finance department on developing the ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan each year and with the Chief Operating Officer in BCP and operational resilience planning. Having responsibility for management of the risk function (with currently one direct report), the successful candidate will be expected to play a key role and provide thought leadership in the expected further development of the risk function and the lenders risk capabilities generally, to match their ambitious growth plans.
