Treasury Analyst
Location: Newbury
Hours: Full time, 35 Hours Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Salary Starting: £33,175.41
Target: £36,861.56
Introduction
We are looking for an analytically minded Treasury Analyst focussed on ALM to join our Treasury team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing asset and liability risks, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the Society operates within its risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the Head of Treasury and Chief Financial Officer, you will provide insightful analysis, contribute to Treasury reporting, and help monitor and manage interest rate and balance sheet risks. You will also have the opportunity to support process improvements and influence key Treasury activities that contribute to the Society's long-term success.
What you will be doing
You will support the Treasury function by:
- Monitoring and analysing interest rate and basis risk positions.
- Supporting the management of derivative counterparty exposures.
- Producing insightful management information and reporting for ALCO, Executive Committee and Board meetings.
- Providing commercial analysis and forward-looking insights to support Treasury decision-making.
- Supporting regulatory reporting requirements and Treasury systems management.
- Assisting with Treasury process improvements and development of new analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Maintaining robust controls and operating within the Society's Risk Management Framework.

Essential skills and experience
- Academic background in mathematics or economics and/or work-based experience of Treasury or Accounting
- Prior experience of working in a treasury / finance function or Asset/Liability Management
- Curiosity and ability to problem solve
- Competent in the use of Microsoft packages - with advanced Excel skills
- Organised, able to plan and take ownership for your workload
- Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable skills and experience
- Studying for a relevant accounting or treasury related qualification
- General Understanding of Financial Services Industry
